Adult Choir

Our adult choir is composed of approximately 40 men and women who support the church liturgy singing at the 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday and at special liturgies including Christmas, Easter, and Confirmation masses. We also perform at special events such as the inter-faith town wide liturgies at Thanksgiving and by special request. We do four hymns at mass along with our four part anthem after communion. Our year starts in September and generally finishes on Mother's Day. Of course time off in the summer is appreciated to rejuvenate the batteries.

The adult choir of Saint Dominic rehearses every week on Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. While the choir has a long and rich tradition of musical excellence, we always wish to build upon this tradition by actively engaging even more members of the parish community.

Singing in a choir anywhere is an incredibly interesting and fine experience, blending your voice with other voices practicing a piece so it gets better and better... working on how to best achieve a composer’s desires. But singing in a church choir has special advantages. As we come together to raise our voices in praise and glory, we continue centuries of sacred traditions in which people have actively worshiped God.

Traditionally, the stereotypical impression has been that a crystal-clear, operatic voice is needed for one to belong to the church choir. But the modern church choir is not that way. Rather, it is comprised of individuals of varying musical talents. At Saint Dominic, in particular, the choir consists of men and women of all levels of experience: some with professional voice training, others never having sung outside the parish walls. What is necessary is a desire to praise and glorify God through song, and an interest in working in a group to improve the individual and collective sound of our music.

We urge you to consider what you might be able to offer to our choir, as well as the uplifting joy you would receive from being part of our group. Contemporary Music

H.I.S.
Hallellujah In Song

H.I.S., our parish-based contemporary music ministry, leads song at St. Dominic Church at the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturdays. The group's focus is to offer an acoustic sound and an uplifting, spiritual experience. Each mass closes with guest percussionists (most of whom are less than five years old!) shaking tambourines and maracas as the parish joins in singing a lively recessional hymn!

New members are welcome anytime! If you play an instrument or sing, and would like to share your gifts with Saint Dominic Parish, please contact Lisa Carroll at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Your talents and time would be greatly appreciated!

FaithinACTSion

ACTS retreats focus on Adoration, Community, Theology & Service.  Music is a big part of both Men’s and Women’s ACTS retreats, and all of the members of Faith in ACTSion have enjoyed being on ACTS weekends.  Faith In ACTSion leads song at St. Dominic Church on the first Saturday of each month.
