Confirmation Program

Grades 9 and 10 Registrations and Calendars  on side bar : ----------------------------->

The Archdiocese of Hartford has contacted Father May with a date for Confirmation.  We will celebrate the sacrament on Friday, May 11, at 7:00.  Students and sponsors will be expected at 6:30.  Details about rehearsals will be announced at class, in the bulletin and on the website when they are known.

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation at Saint Dominic Church is a two year process that runs the course of 9th and 10th grade high school students.

The program is, in effect, the practical application of the religious principles which they have learned through eighth grade. Students begin to explore how to invite God into their hearts in such a way that this relationship is the central one in their lives.  Speakers, retreat experiences, media presentations, prayer, Reconciliation and service are all critical components of these two years.  We expect full participation even though we recognize that students this age have so much else going on; we believe that placing God in the center of your life—no matter what stage of life you are in—can only be beneficial.  Of course, we will be happy to work with your family with special circumstances.

Father May is excited to announce the hiring of a Confirmation Coordinator beginning July 1, 2017.  Nicholas Farrell will be joining the Religious Education team and bringing creativity, prayerfulness and playfulness along with him!  He served here while he was a seminarian and, after graduation, has chosen to take some time to discern God’s plan for his life.  We are thrilled that he will be helping our young people experience the grace of Confirmation preparation.  Be sure to come to your Night of Invitation (see 9/10 calendar for specific date) to meet Nick and hear about the upcoming year.
